Use of diesel and emulsified diesel in CI engine: A comparative analysis of engine characteristics

Despite a number of efforts to evaluate the utility water-diesel emulsions (WED) in CI engine improve its performance and reduce emissions search alternative fuels combat higher prices depleting resources fossil fuels, no consistent results are available. Additionally, noise case WED not thoroughly discussed which motivated this research analyze emission characteristics WED. Brake thermal efficiency (BTE) brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) were calculated at 1600 rpm within 15%–75% load range. Similarly, contents NOx, CO, HC, level smoke measured varying percentage water from 2% 10% gradually for all values loads. BTE emulsified diesel was decreased as increased accompanied by gradual increase BSFC. Thus, WED10 showed maximum 13.08% lower value while BSFC 32.28%. However, NOx (21.8%) (48%) also reduced significantly along with an HC CO noise. The comparative analysis that can smoke, but it has negative impact on be mitigated trying more variations such biodiesel using different injection methods decrease dependency environmental impacts engines.
